Who of us is finally going to stand up and admit that homosexuality is displeasing to God? 

Yes, we should love everyone..we should pray for them, we should be there for them and to encourage them in an honest to God way, leading them to the Savior. So why do we all pretend that homosexuality is okay? It’s not. The Bible clearly says so. Yes, all sins are equal, but it still is a sin and I think we need to recognize that and stop being of the world and listening to what the world says about it.

Yeah, the bible says homosexuality is fucked up. So you have two options:

1. Start from the premise that the Bible is correct.
2. Start from the premise that homosexuality is not evil.

If you take #1, yeah, homosexuality is sinful. 

But since you have no logical arguments for homosexuality being sinful, and this is in fact illogical, you’d best try #2.

If you take #2, the Bible is false. This doesn’t go against any logical arguments you can think of, and, in fact, is quite probable.

The catholic church could open one of their gold vaults, with money and gold stacked as far as the eye can see and they could help every single poor person in the world. They could totally eliminate poverty forever. The cost to them would be equivalent to a tenth of a penny when compared to an average person. This will never happen because they are selfish. The helpless, poor, sick, needy, homeless, poverty-stricken, suffering, uneducated, and downtrodden people (especially of third-world nations) are easily exploitable and give the church the power of the majority. Helping these poor people just enough to keep most of them breathing, raises the church up in a false light as the church steps on their heads. Without all that human misery and suffering, the church would become less important and needed. The church would have less power and no cheap public relation tools. They wouldn’t have anything to make people turn their head, close their eyes and plug their ears of all the extreme church wrong-doings, injustices, atrocities and their true motives would come to light. Without poverty, there would be one less big arguing point of the church’s relevance in our new day and age.

Remember six years ago, when Massachusetts legalized same-sex marriage? Have you noticed how it is now legal to marry children, dogs, and appliances? What about the European Union, which, of course, has now degenderated into a single Socialist nation? One would think that the slippery slope argument wasn’t a logical fallacy or something, given all these successful predictions of the fallacy’s proponents.

One would also not expect civilized and progressive governments to be following such an irrational agrument, either. After all, those who vote against same-sex marriage because they want to keep Fido safe and celibate are individuals; their cognitive skills or lack thereof are their own business. And those Petrovskys who cried wolf on the European Union are also merely individual people. While the riotous masses may be nothing more than riotous, forward-thinking governments surely are above such things.

Such is not the case in the wonderfully liberal Switzerland, however. In the past year or so, posters have appeared denouncing minarets, of all things, as these seemingly guileless architectural embellishments bring great evil with them. This great evil, according to the advertisements, happens to be women wearing abayas and, ironically, censorship. The apparent “logic” behind these promotions happens to be that if “they” are allowed to build minarets, soon the entire Swiss nation will be under extremist Sharia law. 

If this doesn’t make any sense to you, don’t worry; it only gets worse. The group behind all this nonsense, the Egerkinger committee, has declared minarets to be a symbol of power, citing a speech by the then-mayor of Instabul from over a decade ago. Using an obscure passage from an obscure speech by an obscure politician as one’s entire platform does not seem suspect, does it?

My public High School teacher claims that almost every piece of literature has drawn inspiration from the Bible or (barely ever) other religious texts. So far all of the discussions we have had in class about books that to me seemed philosophical rather than religious have resulted in conversation about how “biblical” every book is. The simplest way could be to ask him what the ACLU would think about him going on and on about Christianity in a public school, and then contacting the ACLU if he gives you any shit. 

On another level, it’s utterly meaningless about how art and literature has been focused on Christianity. Off the top of my head:

1. Most things taught in schools focus on Western literature only, which means that of course it’s going to be mainly Christian-based. 
2. Out of the Western things taught in schools, most of them focus on Christians and do not include non-Christians.

Also… For most of history, non-Christians have been tortured to death or otherwise prevented from spreading their ideas. Being Christian in a violently Christian nation is absolutely meaningless, and proves nothing. 

Why did JS Bach write so much for churches? Because they paid him to do that, and because he had to be a good Lutheran or he could be executed/tortured/fined/banished/ostracized/etc.

Same thing for most literary figures. Why are so many literary famous people Christian? Because modern curricula erases non-Christians, and because people were forced to be Christian. 

It’s meaningless. It proves nothing. Your teacher will likely disagree, however, especially concerning the erasures and biases present in modern school programs.
