Sweetie, I have this sneaking feeling you’re not one to lecture others about oppression and privilege.

And really, what’s your excuse for telling someone else what to be offended about? Especially someone who is autistic.

I’m pretty sure a lot of queer people don’t hate the word fag and I’m pretty sure some autistic people are fine with the word “retard”.

Just because some people don’t like a word doesn’t mean everyone in the group doesn’t like it either.

This isn’t about “some people,” or “any people,” or “all people,” or whatever comparative number of people you have. 

Bigoted slurs come from histories and cultures of oppression and systematic discrimination. This is reality, whether or not someone personally finds it offensive. 

And when someone says, “oh, I’m ___ but I think bigotry against ___ is okay,” all they are doing is feeding into the system of oppression. They feel that way? Cool. Good for them. And what about those who are aware of the shit that people have against them? Well, not so good for them, I guess.
