The Unfriendly Atheist
thelongcount:

I don’t usually rant…but I wanted to make something clear.  To say you’re only an “atheist” is as polarizing as saying “God is absolute”.  Before you make a claim that you are an atheist, research. Then research again and you may find that there are many different forms of atheism.  Hell, you might even find comparison with your personal belief (or lack there of) in AGNOSTICISM. To say you are solely an atheist presents you as close minded…similar to a lot of your Baptists, Catholic, and Methodist counterparts.
Sorry, but I dislike the word atheist about as much as I dislike “Christian Baptist”.  The world needs more pragmatism. The world needs less polarization.

Only gnostic atheists claim to have real knowledge of god’s existence. Most atheists are agnostic atheists, which renders your point irrelevant in most cases.
Furthermore, gnostic atheism is based on REASON and LOGIC, which are not in the SLIGHTEST present in gnostic (or agnostic) theism- which makes them two utterly separate concepts, not in the least bit comparable.
