Siksa neraka means “torments of hell.”

Next time when a Christian or Muslim threatens you with eternal torture, think about just what exactly it is they are wishing on you. And for what? Usually it’s for something stupid, like not agreeing on doctrine, or something oppressive, like being gay or a woman. It’s almost never for things like supporting injustice or human rights violations.

Think about this.

In the torment for the blasphemers (I think- or was it the heretics?) in Dante’s Inferno, the author depicted the damned having their bodies being slit open but then healing by the time they walked around the circle so that they could be cut open again. This is a rather important, if vile, point about hell- it’s eternal. So you’ll never stop suffering, you’ll never die, you’ll never get respite or release, ever- it’s forever. And all the graphic descriptions given to hell- these are just ways of trying to get the point across that hell is limitless torture that really is quite indescribable.

Think about this the next time you don’t feel bad about Christians telling you you’re going to hell; this is what they wish on you, this is what they hope you suffer, this is what they think you deserve.

How indescribably evil.
