Kidnapped for Christ follows the stories of several American teenagers who were sent to Escuela Caribe, an American-run Evangelical Christian reform school in The Dominican Republic.From our friends @ Christian Nightmares
A part of me wants to see this, but I know I won’t watch it because I don’t think I’ll be able to see past the rage.  I know these schools exist not only in the Caribbean, but right here in America.  This is child abuse wrapped in the blanket of religious teaching.  I really wish I hadn’t watched this.  Those kids are being treated like prisoners.  When he says, “I’m a U.S. citizen, I should be free” it breaks my heart.  He’s being treated like a criminal because he’s gay.  His mental health is at risk!  To hear him talk about his mental decline there makes me wonder how the hell his parents aren’t facing abuse charges.  Even if he gets out now, he’ll still have to deal with the psychological hell they put him through.
