The Psychedelic Cult That Thrived For Nearly 2000...
pagannews:
The Eleusinian Mysteries are a set of traditions that have been practiced for 2000 years. The popular pseudo-religion invited all, accepting slaves, women, and men, regardless of financial standing and background.
The origin of the group centers on a conflict between Greek gods, with the goddess of agriculture Demeter plunging the world into famine in order to save her daughter...

Anonymous asked: Oh hey, I have an idea. How about we assume that anyone who resorts to name calling and using rude words of any kind against another person is ignorant and not worth our time.
Okay, yall are full of shit.
I haven’t had hostile anons in forever. And what do I do? Post porn of Jesus and Mohammed? Talk shit on religions 24/7? Actively troll the religious?
So when do I get this shit? When I say that no, it’s not cool to use homophobic slurs?
Tumblr is about as gay-friendly as a Republican debate. I guess queers are only cool if they’re cute little white gay men who will cut our...

Sweetie, I have this sneaking feeling you’re not one to lecture others about oppression and privilege.
Why? I’m really good at it. I’m 100% qualified.
And really, what’s your excuse for telling someone else what to be offended about? Especially someone who is autistic.
I’m pretty sure a lot of queer people don’t hate the word...

Tired of People Vilifying Atheists?!
facesofatheists:
I’ve made this blog because I’m super sick and tired of atheists being wrongly assumed to be horrible people void of all morals. The atheists I know are loving, compassionate, creative, genuinely AMAZING people who are out to make positive changes in this world.
Basically, what I want this blog to be, is a collection of photographs of atheists and agnostics. Let’s give the...

The joke is that god isn’t real, and so people have been oppressed, tortured, and killed for nothing, which really isn’t funny at all.

siksa neraka (extented version)
Siksa neraka means “torments of hell.”
Next time when a Christian or Muslim threatens you with eternal torture, think about just what exactly it is they are wishing on you. And for what? Usually it’s for something stupid, like not agreeing on doctrine, or something oppressive, like being gay or a woman. It’s almost never for things like supporting injustice or human rights...

I’ve totally betrayed my future husband with my past relationships and I’ve dishonored God. I know that I’m forgiven and that Jesus loves me.. But the fact that I have to tell my future husband EVERYTHING I’ve done and the things I didn’t save for him terrifies me. I know that I don’t HAVE to but honestly I want to tell him. Relationships are all about trust and I don’t want...

Religion vs. Spirituality. Overcoming fear and...
realmofspirits:
So I was driving to the store today and seen this church billboard literally encouraging people to come and “fear the lord” with them.
Now let me just say, I’m not against any religion, I’m friends with people from all paths. But the idea of this concept really makes me need to give a bloody good rant! And do note, this uses fear the lord only as an example. I’m not targeting...

In the Garden of Eden, two trees were planted by God: the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life. The Tree of Knowledge granted wisdom in the place of innocence while the Tree of Life granted immortality. Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge and were exiled from their paradise by God to be prevented from also eating from the Tree of Life. Which fruit would you have...

Anonymous asked: I've actually asked your exact same question. I only know one woman who reported her rape, and it was by a stranger. Everyone else is in denial, doesn't think they can prove it or doesn't want to be labeled. But they rarely bring it up, either, so can't be accused of wanting attention (ugh). And while it is possible that some men I've known have been falsely accused-...

bananafish707 answered: I’d rather see statistics,...
According to RAINN, 60% of sexual assaults go unreported, and 15/16 rapists will never spend time in imprisonment.
According to the FBI, the rate of unfounded (not false) rape accusations are 8%.
Again, regardless of statistics- I’d like you to ask yourself how many sexual assault/rape victims you know versus how many victims of false accusation you know.

Now, I didn’t feel like making my millionths Reddit account, so I’ll just say something here.
How many people do you know that have been raped or sexually assaulted? Out of those people, how many do you know that have gone to the police and successfully won a court case?

Surah Al-‘Ankabut 29:23
How fucking considerate of him. Sounds like a real winner, this “Allah” guy. So I rejected this mercy, the same mercy that is going to get me tortured limitlessly for eternity? Dodged a bullet there. I bet he’s the kind that supports rape and forced reproduction on women and then whines about how they’re all frigid bitches.

Do you have a 'God-Shaped Hole' in your life?
iloveatheism:
This is something I’ve been hearing a bit about lately. Some atheists claim that even though they have left their religion and don’t miss the religion, they do miss the comfort of having God there as a constant source of support. They feel an emptiness where there was once a sort of relationship. Now, I myself don’t have this hole in my life. I decided young that God was...

I just took a trip to the radical Christian section of Tumblr and I’ve never been more terrified in my life. Some memorable quotes:
Clearly men cannot do what they want with their penis when they force it on a woman who does not want sex. Just like a woman cannot force death on a child who wants life and purpose in the world, just because she owns her uterus!

Prayer for the Right to Life
badwolfcomplex:
O heavenly Father, strengthen us against the mounting forces of anti-life; enlighten those who walk in this deadly way that they may see the enormity of their sin and return to the generous observance of the divine law.
We pray, too, for mothers, that they may prize the great privilege of motherhood; and that they may bring up their children in the holy love and fear of God,...

Yesterday in our Values class, I had the most repulsive experience in college.
Our regular professor was out so we had a substitute. The lesson for that day were about different personalities. He showed us a diagram:
Wise - someone who is god-fearing and is able to recognize mistakes.
Foolish - someone who doesn’t love god or someone who denies him and his orders.
Mocker...
